4.52 pm - Sunday

Oh dear. As the clocks went back over the weekend I was reminded about just how dark it is going to get over the coming months.

This photo was taken from our deck just as we came home from an afternoon stroll in one of the local parks.

As for the rest of the weekend...

On Friday night Fran, Graham, Paul and I went to see Monty Python's Spamalot (Paul's birthday present from F&G). It was super funny and I'm not even a Monty Python nut.

Saturday before Paul went to play rugby (winning 27 - 7) and I went super unsuccessfully shopping (none of the three things on my list were purchased) we ventured into the village and stocked up at the local butcher . I managed to avoid the cheese shop ... But only just.

After the unsuccessful shopping expedition with Leona it was girls' night at Ange's place. Reminiscent of a teenage sleepover we ate tooooo much sugar and watched Grease.

With the clocks going back last night and gave us both a good chance to get some extra sleep. I made a second attempt to go shopping (and found some shoes! yay!) and came home with the Sunday Times - this paper is the type you start on Sunday and are still reading at least the next weekend so that took care of the rest of the day. The travel section is particularly dangerous...

Now my tummy is full with yummy lamb roast and I'm about to settle into Sunday night CSI relaxing before the week starts again.

Enough of the ramblings. Hope you are all well.

Evening exchange of emails (or how the house became a studio)

Paul was working late today and I err got distracted as I ran home...

Here is the email exchange that followed

Just curious; how much have you spent on guitars while we have been here?

£80something (2 x guitar, amp, bag, strap) Yes, you can get an easel and paints and stuff. But no kittens....

How will you get the paint off the kitten?

I'm done now (I think). Is it too late to run home?

And, no, there is no kitten; the rule is that I'd have to be mean enough to keep it inside all the time when I was at work - it's a long jump from the 4th floor otherwise...

I'm also still a full time lawyer, and have not retired like Brenda, so I suspect my project updates will be few and far between.

Off to make very late dinner now!

My foot

So it seems that I have a suspected torn ligament. That’s the bad news. The worse news is that I should continue doing what I normally do, which means no excuse for not running. On the flip side that makes good news as I am able to keep wearing heels…

Must go pick up some Arnica.

A surprise morning at home

Or the joys of the NHS...

I have managed to bung my foot in and in true Brit style I can't see a doctor until sometime next year, unless I go to a drop in clinic. So I dropped in this morning and they can't see me until 10.30 (hmm sounds a little like an appointment to me!).

Anyway this means I have a couple of hours at the house before heading back to the clinic. Time to pay some bills, order some groceries and listen to my new favourite thing on the net - Pandora - it probably works best with broadband but you can plug in an artist or song and it makes a station of music for you.

Now to go do all that productive stuff...
